Each Grower’s Choice cutting is hand-selected from our collection of established mother plants. The photos shown represent the mother plant or a plant from the same lineage and are provided as a reference for the cultivar being offered. Please refer to the product details for the minimum cutting size included with your purchase.
Please note:
• Freshly cut before shipping
• Unrooted cutting (minimum size specified in this listing)
• Natural variation in splash, silver, variegation, leaf shape and overall appearance should be expected.
• Future splash, silver and variegation cannot be guaranteed, as these characteristics are influenced by genetics and by the growing conditions provided after purchase.
• As with any living plant, minor cosmetic blemishes or superficial marks may occasionally be present and are considered normal. These do not affect the cutting’s health or future growth potential.
• Produced under a preventive biological pest management program.
• Successful rooting depends on the buyer’s propagation method, environment and aftercare. Rooting is the buyer’s responsibility and is accepted at the buyer’s own risk.

Shipping & Plant Preparation
- International orders normally ship by FedEx International Priority, with the required phytosanitary documentation included.
- Plants are prepared according to destination and inspection requirements. Roots may need cleaning or removal, and a rooted plant may ship as an unrooted cutting when required for import compliance.
- Customers must verify applicable import requirements and provide any required permits, registrations or importer identification.
- We do not undervalue shipments or falsely declare plants as gifts or other goods.
United States
- Product prices displayed in the U.S. market include applicable U.S. duties and taxes and the required phytosanitary certificate. Shipping is charged separately.
- When required for clearance, the importer’s SSN or EIN must be supplied by the scheduled shipping day through our provided secure portal or directly to FedEx Brokerage. Please do not send these numbers by ordinary email.
- Additional charges resulting from incorrect customer information, missing documents, storage, refusal, abandonment or services requested after dispatch remain the customer’s responsibility where permitted by law.
Switzerland & Germany: DAP
- Unless checkout expressly states otherwise, these shipments are Delivered at Place (DAP).
- Product prices and shipping charges exclude import VAT, customs duties, brokerage, disbursement, customs handling, plant-health inspection and other destination charges.
- The recipient is the importer and pays applicable charges directly to the carrier or authority.
- Storage, quarantine, return or destruction costs may also arise if clearance cannot be completed.
Customs & Tracking
- Customs processing times vary and are outside our direct control.
- Please monitor tracking, respond promptly to the carrier or authorities, provide requested documentation and pay applicable destination charges without delay.
- Contact us before ordering if you need specific export documentation or assistance.
Root Care on Arrival
- We recommend re-rooting your Hoya or trimming the roots back before potting, even if transit was fast.
- Check the roots carefully and remove any damaged or decaying portions before placing your plant in its new growing medium.
- For unrooted cuttings, high humidity is ideal while they root. A propagation box works well. Keep the rooting medium lightly moist rather than soaked.
- Contact us promptly if your plant arrives in poor condition. Rooting and recovery depend on the plant’s condition and the care provided and cannot be guaranteed.
Refused or Abandoned Shipments
- To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for delays, deterioration, seizure, destruction or additional costs resulting from inaccurate customer information, missing required documents, unpaid destination charges, or refusal or abandonment of a shipment.
- Refunds and remedies remain subject to our policies and mandatory consumer rights.
Please read our Shipping Policy and Refund Policy for complete conditions.
Arrival & Acclimation Care
Arrival & Acclimation Care
- Give your Hoya time to settle: Darkness, temperature changes and travel can cause temporary stress. Avoid unnecessary repotting, fertilizing or sudden exposure to intense direct light immediately after arrival. Bare-root plants and unrooted cuttings need a suitable setup promptly.
- Growing conditions: Our plants are grown at 50–80% humidity. Avoid sudden changes in temperature, humidity or light while they adjust to your home.
- Unrooted cuttings: Ideally, keep them in high humidity while they root. A propagation box works well. Keep the rooting medium lightly moist rather than soaked.
- Hydration: Check the roots and growing medium before watering. Avoid overwatering while the plant acclimates. For plants in semi-hydro, do not leave the substrate completely dry for extended periods.
- Our beneficial mites: We take plant health seriously, with careful inspections and preventive biological care. Every four to six weeks, we introduce beneficial predatory mites, generally Neoseiulus californicus, to help protect our Hoyas. These tiny helpers may travel home with your plant. They’re your friends! Smile if you spot them because they’re hard at work protecting your Hoya 🌿
- International orders: Plants are carefully prepared before phytosanitary inspection to meet the destination’s requirements. We recommend re-rooting your Hoya or trimming the roots back before potting, even if transit was fast. Check the roots carefully and remove any damaged or decaying portions before placing your plant in its new growing medium.
- Ongoing care: Acclimation and rooting depend on your growing conditions and the care you provide. Keep things consistent and give your Hoya time to adjust!
General Terms
General Terms
- Check your order promptly: Open and inspect your plants as soon as reasonably possible after delivery. Please report any significant issue to orders@hoyaetcetera.ca within 6 hours of the recorded delivery time so we can assess it promptly.
- What to include: Send your order number, the affected plant’s name, clear photos of the plant and issue, all packaging and the shipping label. Briefly explain its condition on arrival and when you received the parcel.
- Proof of collection: Include reasonable timestamped evidence that the parcel was brought inside promptly. This can be a photo taken when you collected it, a reception record or doorbell-camera footage.
- Reporting timeframe: The six-hour target helps us assess live plants whose condition can change quickly. It does not shorten mandatory legal deadlines or remove your statutory rights.
- Claims: We review the condition, circumstances and supporting evidence. Eligible claims may receive care guidance, a replacement or store credit. Monetary refunds are provided when we cancel an order or applicable law requires one, as explained in our Refund Policy.
- Natural variation: Minor cosmetic marks, normal shipping stress and changes in leaf position are not automatically defects. Significant undisclosed damage, incorrect plants and other issues covered by mandatory consumer rights will be handled accordingly.
- Unrooted cuttings: The buyer is responsible for providing suitable propagation conditions and ongoing care. Rooting success cannot be guaranteed. Take particular care with highly variegated stems to avoid overly wet conditions.
- Variegation and splash: Future foliage characteristics cannot be guaranteed. Genetics and growing conditions influence how your plant develops.
- Final sales: We do not accept returns or exchanges for changes of mind, buyer’s remorse or ordering the wrong plant. Please do not send plants back to us. Mandatory remedies for defective, incorrect or misdescribed goods remain available.
- Cancellations: Contact us as soon as possible. Cancellation may not be possible once fulfillment, inspection, certification or packing has begun.
- Cancellation fees: Where legally permitted, an approved customer-requested cancellation carries a fee of 10% of the merchandise subtotal before tax, excluding shipping. Documented, non-recoverable third-party export or inspection costs may also be deducted. These fees do not apply when we cancel or when a mandatory fee-free cancellation or refund right applies.
Please read our Refund Policy and Shipping Policy for complete conditions.
